MINE SECTOR REVIEW ON

An international delegation from the African Union is in Solwezi, North Western Province to conduct a target review in the mining sector.

African Peer Review Mechanism – APRM- says the purpose of the review is to provide government with information on mineral resource management in the sector.

APRM target review coordinator Janet Mabwa says the review will analyze, social and economic factors that are affecting the mining sector and a report will be presented to cabinet on December 15 this year.

Speaking when the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Provincial Administration, Ms. Mabwe revealed the APRM is conducting a target review on mining and tourism sector.

This was contained in a speech read on her behalf by APRM Continental Secretary Emmanuel Merissa.

And North Western Province Permanent Secretary Willies Mangimela said

the target review will help government formulate guidelines on resource management.

Mr. Mangimela said mining and tourism sectors contribute a lot to the country’s revenue.
