Namibia: FABIAN SHAANIKA APPOINTED CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE CHAMBER OF MINES OF NAMIBIA

The Chamber of Mines of Namibia announced the appointment of Fabian Shaanika as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 May 2026.

Shaanika brings close to two decades of experience spanning the full mining value chain — from exploration and project development through to financing and production — complemented by deep expertise in investment banking within the natural resources sector. This breadth of experience positions him well to lead the Chamber through its next chapter of growth and impact.

“The Executive Committee is confident that his leadership will further strengthen the Chamber’s advocacy efforts, enhance support to our members, and advance the sustainable growth and competitiveness of Namibia’s mining sector.” — Chamber of Mines of Namibia

The Chamber also extends its sincere gratitude to outgoing Chief Executive Mr. Veston Malango, who served with distinction for 20 years. His vision and dedication have been fundamental in shaping the Chamber into the respected institution it is today.
