EMVAFRICA UNITES VALVES AND INSTRUMENTATION UNDER ENERGYVALVES UMBRELLA, ADDING FURTHER VALUE FOR CUSTOMERS

EMVAfrica, South Africa’s specialist supplier of stainless steels, special alloys and valves, is proud to announce the strategic transfer of its instrumentation portfolio from its metals division to the valves division – ENERGYValves.

“Our initial thought in bringing instrumentation, more specifically the high-quality D-lok range of compression fittings and instrumentation tubes under our metals umbrella was to complement our stock BSP (British Standard Pipes which refers to screw head shape and dimensions) and Schedule fittings,” explains Valves Sales Manager at ENERGYValves, Preshan Pillay. “However, we soon discovered that instrumentation, while a stand‑alone market in its own right, strongly complements and adds value to our valve and actuation portfolio. Notably, as many of our customers in the actuation sphere were already using the D-lok range, the product line proved better aligned with our valves division, making it the clear strategic choice and strengthening our integrated offering. Our objective with this move is to provide end‑to‑end solutions, enabling customers to conveniently source both valves and instrumentation from a single trusted partner.”

“Being the sole distributor of the D-Lok range is driven by our commitment to delivering reliable solutions that enhance performance and long-term value (quality), a deep understanding of our customer’s operational needs (customer focus) and a commitment to continuous improvement in how we serve and operate,” shares Pillay.

ENERGYValves is proudly the official sole distributor of the D-lok range in Southern Africa. “After thorough evaluation, we selected this brand as it aligns perfectly with our value proposition of supplying only premium‑quality products supported by a high service ethic,” states Pillay. Founded in 1974 in Busan, Korea, D‑lok is a market leading industrial fitting manufacturer providing affordable high-quality products to an extremely wide spectrum of industries worldwide including process, chemical and nuclear power plants, pulp & paper mills, marine (vessels), gas terminals and offshore oil production. From its cutting edge, fully equipped production facilities the organisation produces and supplies fittings, flanges and pipes in non‑ferrous metals such as copper and copper‑nickel alloys. The company’s D‑lok tube fittings are widely used in instrumentation, process and control systems, semiconductors and LCD equipment applications. D‑lok continues to strengthen its competitiveness by staying abreast of industry trends, driving innovation and earning a reputation for producing superior quality products.

“Since introducing D-Lok to the Southern African market, we have seen strong customer interest and growing adoption of the range,” asserts Sizwe Nkosi who has been appointed by ENERGYValves as a dedicated Instrumentation Specialist. “With over 1,000 fitting solutions available, D-Lok offers customers a reliable, high-quality choice for their instrumentation needs. Currently, around 40% of customers are repeat purchasers, while approximately 60% of our valve customers have begun incorporating D-Lok fittings into their operations, with these numbers continuing to grow.”

Nkosi highlights that D-lok’s metric and imperial size valve range can be used in the instrumentation and mechanical industries. “The D‑lok products combine exceptional quality with highly competitive value. Beyond this, we have undertaken extensive groundwork to ensure we carry the right type of D‑lok stock in sufficient quantities. This enables us to remain consistently prepared and aligned with our customers’ needs.”

“We have found that, alongside actuation, the water purification and mining industries in Southern Africa have been particularly successful with the D‑lok instrumentation range of tube fittings, adapters and pipes,” notes Nkosi. “Looking ahead, we believe the future of all industries lies in automation and wherever automation is implemented, our D‑lok fittings can play an integral role.”

From its own dedicated facility in Kyalami Office Park, Midrand, Johannesburg, ENERGYValves provides a complete range of world‑class Globe, Ball, Gate, Butterfly, Check and Safety Relief valves. The product portfolio also extends to Diaphragm, Needle, Solenoid (electromechanical), Pinch, Pressure Reducing and Control units for more specialised applications. “With our wide valve offering, we can meet virtually any application requirement in sectors such as oil & gas, water and waste treatment, mining, power generation, chemical processing, petrochemical, manufacturing and construction,” notes Pillay.

More recently, ENERGYValves has introduced an electric actuator range, cast‑iron Knife Gate valves, Flanged Globe valves and a variety of actuator accessories for control. Pillay adds, “We have also expanded our Gate, Check and Ball valve ranges to include different materials, end connections and pressure ratings. All valve drilling, actuation and machining requirements are handled in‑house at our fully dedicated workshop.” EMVAfrica is continually focused on growth and expanding its product range and through careful market analysis, the company identified that the D‑lok range positions its valves division to meet evolving customer needs. Pillay concludes: “With the addition of the D-lok brand to our valves’ portfolio, we are now able to deliver a more complete solution within ENERGYValves’ actuation supply. While we are highly proficient in our current offering, we refuse to remain stagnant; our commitment is to continually move EMVAfrica and its divisions forward, seeking new opportunities to strengthen our portfolio and provide customers with integrated, premium quality, end‑to‑end solutions. At the same time, we remain deeply committed to sustainability, ensuring that our growth is aligned with responsible practices that support long‑term resilience for our customers, industry and the environment.”
