Zambia: KONKOLA COPPER MINES DRIVES  SUSTAINABLE IMPACT AT THE 2026 CSR AND ESG CONFERENCE IN LUSAKA

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) is proud to be among the sponsors and participating organisations at the 7th Edition of the CSR, ESG & Sustainability Conference currently taking place at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

The conference has brought together Corporate Social Responsibility leaders, sustainability practitioners, policymakers and industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships and advance sustainable development practices across Zambia.

Representing KCM at the conference are Mr. Henry Ngilazi, Acting Manager – Public Relations and Communications; Ms. Kangwa Nakaonga, Procurement Officer – Nampundwe Business Unit; and Mr. Brighton Munthali, Community Liaison Officer – Nampundwe Business Unit. Their participation underscores the company’s continued commitment to championing ESG priorities and actively contributing to sustainability-driven dialogue.

Throughout the sessions, the KCM delegation has been engaging with industry peers, development partners and fellow corporate leaders, sharing insights on responsible mining, community development initiatives and sustainable procurement practices. These engagements reinforce KCM’s focus on integrating environmental stewardship, social responsibility and strong governance into its core operations.

As one of the event sponsors, KCM joins other organisations in supporting dialogue centred on environmental, social and governance priorities, sustainable resource management and inclusive economic growth. The conference provides a platform for professionals to share best practices, explore innovative solutions and collaborate on strategies that drive measurable social and environmental impact.

KCM’s participation aligns with broader industry efforts to embed sustainability into business strategy, from strengthening local value chains and empowering communities to promoting responsible mining practices that contribute to Zambia’s long-term development.

The conference is expected to conclude today with a CSR Day adjudication and awards ceremony recognising organisations and individuals demonstrating excellence in corporate social responsibility and sustainability practices.
