Convenient 24/7 access to technical training with compliments from SKF’s Vehicle Aftermarket.

SKF’s Vehicle Aftermarket is pleased to announce that a selection of e-learning technical training courses is available to mechanics.  All that is required is an internet connection to conveniently access these courses 24/7. Whether at work, at home or even while travelling, these e-learning courses allow participants to conveniently learn at their own pace and place.

The increasing complexity of modern vehicle systems is driven by the rapid development of new technologies. It is, therefore, crucial to stay ahead of these advances as some of these systems, such as steering and suspension for example, have a direct impact on driver and passenger comfort and safety. It can also affect the safety of other road users, cyclists and pedestrians.

These e-learning modules cover a range of topics and have been specially designed to suit less experienced through to professional mechanics. The basic module is for mechanics that are just starting to gain experience; the advanced module is aimed at individuals who are actively working as mechanics while experienced mechanics will benefit from the professional module.

The e-learning courses cover a number of topics including water pumps, steering and suspension, timing systems and wheel bearings.  The seminars look at functions, an overview of components, advice and instructions on replacement of individual components, proper procedures, correct tooling, failure causes and consequences, etc.

These user-friendly courses have been carefully structured to achieve a number of learning objectives. Participants can avoid failures by learning how to correctly install mechanical, electrical and adjustable coolant pumps. They will also learn how to correctly diagnose typical faults and how to avoid them. If there is damage, participants will be how to determine the immediate cause and how to prevent it in the future.

At the end of each course participants will have the opportunity to take a short test to check what they have learnt. Upon successful completion of the test they will be able to print their own personal course-completion certificate.

Whether the objective is to increase machine uptime, solve application problems or manage machine assets for long-term profitability, these-courses will assist in upskilling technicians so that they can perform their tasks to the best of their ability.
