Botswana: DEBSWANA APPOINTS EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT

Debswana Diamond Company has undergone organisational re-design to ensure that the company remains fit for purpose and responsive to current and future business challenges whilst ensuring alignment of its structures with its long-term strategic objectives, the evolving business environment, and operational efficiency.

To achieve this, the company implemented a process to develop a future-focused operating model. This process has since culminated in a reduction of executive-level positions from an initial thirteen (13) positions to eight (8) as approved by the Board.

As part of the structural review, various leadership models were considered, including aligning executive roles with global best practices. This included changes in leadership titles and streamlining some job portfolios to achieve synergies and aid operational excellence.
