Zambia: ZAMBIA UNVEILS ZIMIS: A Digital Leap for Mining Transparency and Growth!

Zambia has unveiled the Zambia Integrated Mining Information System (ZIMIS), a cutting-edge digital platform set to transform the mining sector.

Launched on February 27, 2025, by the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Hon. Paul C. Kabuswe MP, ZIMIS marks a bold step toward transparency, efficiency and sustainable growth under President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership.

Replacing outdated systems with the advanced Government Service Bus (GSB) platform, ZIMIS streamlines mining licensing, reduces corruption and enhances inter-agency collaboration.

Aligned with the National Mineral Resources Development Policy, it aims to boost copper production to 3 million metric tonnes by 2031 and position Zambia as a global leader in critical minerals.

Fully compliant with the Mines and Minerals Development Act, ZIMIS protects existing mining rights while promoting a zero-tolerance policy on corruption.

This innovation promises to attract investment, create jobs and drive socio-economic transformation.

Zambia’s mining future is here—smarter, transparent and sustainable.
